Call for Board Nominations

Nominations to join the Board of Directors has started

Starting Wednesday March 19th, nominations for the Board of Directors are open. There are 5 spots available that need to be filled.

The board is in charge of:

•     Review and set the membership requirements, benefits, and dues for voting and non-voting membership in the Guild.
•     Review events/activities and set goals for the year.
•     Help plan legislative objectives for the year with the Guild’s Lobbyist.
•     Support Executive Director in Guild’s events.
•     Monthly review of Guilds financials and goals.

Please consider carefully that serving on the board will require a significant commitment of time and energy, including travel.

Candidates for the board of directors must meet the following criteria:

•     Employed by a member brewery in good standing
•     Ability to attend in-person meetings around the state up to 4 times per year, and monthly online meetings.
•     Ability to attend ALL major events (festivals, conference, etc.)
•     Ability to assist with recruitment of new members, sponsorship, etc.
•     Ability to attend and participate in legislative efforts

The new Board is seated in May each year. The President then selects a Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer to serve for 1 year.
All board members will serve on at least one Committee.

•     Government/Legislative
•     Revenue/Finance (chaired by Treasurer)
•     Member Engagement & Education

Beginning Monday, April 7th, an online poll will be available for voting for 3 weeks. Each member brewery in good standing has one vote. If you are not sure of your standing, please contact paloma@flbrewersguild.org ASAP. Breweries in planning are not voting members. Elected members will be announced the week after voting closes on April 28th.
